The startups have between January 23 and February 20 to apply to be one of the 300 startups that will receive training, mentoring and connection with possible investors. The program is a realization of Sebrae and MDIC and has already accelerated 415 startups for free.
The InovAtiva Brasil, program that offers mentoring and acceleration for startups, is receiving applications of entrepreneurs interested in leveraging its projects on the first cycle of 2017. Those interested in signing up have from January 23 to February 20 to access the official site and apply. It will be selected 300 startups to receive training, mentoring and connection with possible investors. In 2016, the InovAtiva Brasil received 2.521 applications and selected 600 startups to accelerate in the two acceleration cycles.
The InovAtiva Brasil was created in 2013 and is a realization of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and Sebrae, and it is executed by the CERTI foundation. The secretary of Innovation and New Businesses of MDIC, Marcos Vinícius de Souza, affirms that 2017 will be a year of expansion for the program. ‘‘The innovation in Brazil has gained forces in 2016 with the startups accelerated by the InovAtiva. With the support of large volunteers mentors, the entrepreneurs will show their projects to experienced executives, also having a diveristy of additional advantages like possible partners and even support to internationalization of their projects’’, says Souza.
The president of Sebrae, Guilherme Afif, believes that the great diversity of businesses accelerated by the program gives visibility to the Entrepreneurship in Brazil. “In 2016 we had 600 companies accelerated in the most diverse segments of the economy. This reinforces that Innovation is everywhere and must be encouraged, especially to guarantee the competitivity of the small businesses” says Guilherme Afif Domingos, Sebrae’s president.
For Leandro Carioni, director of the Innovative Entrepreneurship Center of the CERTI Foundation, the startups have been increasingly searching for acceleration, because InovAtiva is the differential of the innovation ecosystem in the country.
‘‘We had two acceleration cycles in 2016 and this year won’t be different. We consolidated our work and now we prepare to expand even more the program’’. A clear example of acceleration success is the startup HairAdvisor. that finds the best Hairdressers according to customers evaluation. ‘‘It is a great experience. A program that get to unite collective individual, on-line and presential mentorship and makes possible for a lot of people to participate. Its the ideal place to find who can help us in our pain’’, affirms the CEO Bruna Marinelli.
It is important to emphasize that the program offers training at a world level in innovative entrepreneurship by means of free courses, access to national and international mentors, investors and other partners.
