THE PARK


INTRODUCTION

The Guamá Science and Technology Park (Guamá STP) is the first technologic park to operate in the Amazon. The goal is to encourage the applied research, the innovative entrepreneurship, the service provision and the technology transfer to develop products and services of higher added value and strongly competitive.

The resources invested in the building and consolidation of the STP are from the Pará State Government through the Science, Technology and Technical and Technologic Education Secretary (Sectet) in partnership with the Bank for Economic and Social Development – BNDES. Defined from the Pará State vocations and regional installed skills, the STP’s strategic areas of expertise are focused on Biotechnology; Information and Communication Technology (ICT); Energy; Environmental Technology and Mineral Technology.

MANAGEMENT

The Guamá Science and Technology Foundation was qualified by the Pará State Government to manage the administration, finances, structure and environment of the STP. Since 2009, the foundation is maintained by the Pará State Government, via contract with the Science, Technology and Technical and Technologic Education Secretary – SECTET.
